that was mixed with the air flow. Note that the V8 manifolds we were using had bid x section flow channels to feed our 650+hp engine. In fact we had gone from a 6 carb set up to 2- big Holly 4 barrels and still could not feed enough fuel into the engine, GM (German developed) FI was the answer. Also we also created a perimeter dam on the outside of the manifold and placed ice in the dam to cool the intake charge for the 1/4 mile runs, helped.
We did not have a boosted engine so I cannot answer your question. Back then we were in the class AA modified sports and anything went except supercharging.
